What really is Automation?

Automation in itself is a very vague term, let’s have a look at what this means for businesses and their founders.

When you first tried ChatGPT you were probably a bit sceptical, maybe you were one of the earlier users and were just curious, perhaps you joined a little later to see for yourself what the commotion was all about.

But once you started using it you became a little impressed, you could see right then how it could save your time, how it could simplify your day-to-day tasks, you could extrapolate to how this would only get bigger and better as the technology progresses.

This is the “Wow” factor, this is automation in practice with the application of AI – the fastest moving innovative technology we have ever seen.

Application

This is an example of what applying effective automation looks like: we identify a process that is “draining”, this could mean a set of tasks that take up a lot of your time / money , or maybe something that eats away at your mental energy.

We then consider- what would this look like if you could press a single button and the task would take care of itself? This is where we have a few questions to cover:

• Will it be completed to the same quality had I done it?
• How much time / energy / money would it save me?
• What can I replace this time / energy / money with, now that it has been freed up?
